Tonight marks the first Gathering of 2012! This past year has been a busy one, but hopefully one day we'll have a Blogging community as strong as before. Use the opportunity of the new year to give yourself a kick start in motivation, and keep an optimistic outlook!

A blue gray tabby tom padded into the clearing. The clan that followed him were underweight and beaten. Every cat scrambled just to stay on their paws. The tom looked up at where the leaders would climb up and take their places but a dark brown and ginger she-cat that seemed to be his mate stopped him from climbing up.
The tom looked around. "We're the first here."
"it's ok Jayshadow." His mate comforted him.
"I'm just worried the clan is weak and very small. And to top that I still don't have 9 lives!" Jayshadow fretted.
"It seems almost like no one will come." Cherryspots muttered.
"They'll come." Moonshine replied.
Cherryspots roled her eyes. "If only Caveclan, Cloudclan, and Beachclan were still here. Then we could be at our own gathering."
"You know we didn't gather a lot!" Tigerfrost scolded.
"Yeah at least we get to gther here." Oakshadow agreed. "Why have you been so grumpy!"
"Like you would know." Cherryspots retorted.

Jayshadow and Owlfire stood at the foot of the tree with with the deputy, Jaggedfeather.
"It feels weird, being deputy of a clan that isn't your birth clan." Jaggedfeather admitted.
"Well we're the last clan so.." Jayshadow started.
"Its ok your welcome as a clanmate in Fogclan." Owlfire finnished for him.
Moonstar padded into the clearing, the selected cats of HawkClan just behind her. "HawkClan has arrived!" she announced, looking around the clearing to see if any other cats had arrived.
Ripplestep, then HawkClan medicine cat went over and stood near her leader. Waiting for other clans.
*bumps into a tree* "Ouch!"
"Ripplestep, remember that marigold you used for my wounds? Do you happen to have any more on you right now?"
Hailstorm arrived at the Gathering after taking a mistaken leave.
"I'm here," he gasped. He was covered from neck to tail in dirt, leaves, and twigs, and having a couple of cuts. Obviously, he had rushed here.

Tigerstripe arrived, spotted Hailstorm, and rolled his eyes. "I'm here, Moonstar." he made his way over to her.
Ashstar ran in, followed by most of her warriors. "Hi, i'm Ashstar, and this is DragonClan." she informed the other leaders, then took her place. She spotted Moonstar. "Moonstar! How are you?"
Jayshadow nodded his head to the other leaders as they joined.

"Finnaly!" Cheeryspots gasped. She got up to see cats but was stopped by Tigerforst.
"Its the first time we've gathered here! Show some respect and don't jump headfirst into things! You've got a brain, use it!" Tigerfrost hissed.
Moonstar purred softly when she saw the other clan leader. "Greetings," she said, dipping her head in respect for Ashstar. "HawkClan is doing fine; how about DragonClan?"
"Great! DragonClan is thriving." she returned, dipping her head as well. (My warriors are STILL on their way :P)
She looked around and spotted another leader, to which she dipped her head. "Greetings. Which clan are you from?" she asked kindly, flicking her tail.
Tigerstripe looked around, and went over to Ashstar. "Hi."
"Hi!" Ashstar replied. "How are you?"
"Good." Tigerstripe answered, not a very socially skilled cat.
(Yes, i'm talking to myself. Got a problem with that? ;P)
Jayshadow let out a frustrated hiss, "I should be up with the leaders!"
"You know you shouldn't! You are too weak to climb, not only that but until you've recieved your lives." Owlfire whispered.
Jayshadow ignored her and started climbing. He took his plce among the leaders and nodded to them. "Greetings. Should we start?"
"I guess so. I was hoping more clans would join us." Ashstar decided, then looked at Moonstar. "Is that okay with you?"
Moonstar nodded slowly. "I guess we have no choice," she said. "The other clans can join in when they arrive."
Grasspaw followed Firewing. "This should be fun!" he said excitedly.
"That's decided then." Ashstar noticed Grasspaw, relief flooding through her. "Grasspaw! Talonstrike isn't here yet, and you know your rank; come stand in his position temporarily." She ignored the curious looks of the other leaders.
Tigerstripe looked up at Ashstar. What was she talking about?
Jayshadow looked to see the new clan entering. He watched them closely as they filed in. He turned his head to look at his scrawny clan and sighed. he looked towards the leaders.

Cherryspots looked at Tigerfrost "PLEASE!"
"I'm a senior warrior you will listen to me!" Tigerfrost reminded her.
"Oh let her meet the clans Tigerfrost!" Owlfire told him.
"I'm older-" Tigerfrost started then stopped when Owlfire gave him a sharp glance. "Owlfire is right I- I was being mouse brained." Tigerfrost mumured.
"Just because you like her doesn't mean you need to scold her." Owlfire told Tigerfrost.
"I don't like her. Well, not like that." Tigerfrost defended himself.
"And I'm a mouse." owlfire retorted.

Owlfire leaned toward Skypaw. "Join the medicine cats."
"But I'm not even a medicine cat!" Skyoaw argued.
"But you are going to become one right? So join them!" Owlfire urged.
"Can I at least take Pebblepaw, he knows more than me! He was Cloudclan's Medicine Cat apprentice!" Skypaw asked.
"And look like we've got two medicine cats who are only apprentices! As if." Owlfire answered "now go."
"Fine." Skypaw turned and joined the medicine cats by herself.
"Hi." she greeted them.
"We have two new warriors: Willowfur and Gingertail!" Lightningstar announced.

Jayshadow padded up nervously.
"Our clan has a new beggining!" Jayshadow started, "Regretfully when we tried to escape the island many cats died. Fogclan has made it along with cats from some other clans. Moonshine was badly injured and can no longer be a warrior." he paused feeling as though he were revealing clan secrets.
"I will soon get my nine lives and we welcome our new medicine cats into training, Skypaw and Pebblepaw..."
Jaystar sat quickly and ducked his head.

Fogclan cats looked at him. Murmmuring started in Fogclan.
"What is he doing?" Owlfire whispered.
Jayshadow looked at the cats in Fogclan. He climbed down nodded to say goodbye to the clans. "We need to leave early." Jayshadow told them.
Pebblepaw and Skypaw came to his side. He beckoned his mate Owlfire and the deputy Jaggedfeather over.
"What is the news?"
"No one is happy that you told our weaknesses." Jaggedfeather replied.
"May I ask why you did?" Skypaw asked.
"I thought we should be truthful!" Jayshadow was surprised to hear this.
"No, not quite. But its your first time and we'll be strong again soon."
"This is DragonClan's first gathering. We are thriving well." Ashstar said.
"We welcome Sparkkit into our clan." she continued, feeling joy. "Of our newest warriors, Yewpaw, Brackenstep, and Drizzlepaw are here as well." each cat, when their name was called, stood proudly. She looked at Fogclan with pity. "That is all." she saw Lighningstar, but decided to wait before talking to her.
Moonstar then stepped forward. "HawkClan has welcomed Thunderscar, Lionfang, Tigerstripe, Hawkfur, Dreamdance, Hailstorm, Breezekit and Cherrykit into our clan. Thunderscar has also given birth to two kits; Badgerkit and Gingerkit. Other than that, the prey has been running well, and we are in a good condition."
Dipping her head once more, the clan leader stepped backwards to let another cat speak.
Lionheart, Deputy of IslandClan, bounded up onto the rock. His eyes were restless, and he looked as if he hadn't had much sleep in the past few nights.
"Sorry we're late." The golden Warrior mewed quietly to no one in particular, but all the Leaders. A few of the Leaders nodded vaguely, but the Leader who was speaking gave him a silencing glare.
When the Leader was finished he stepped forward.
"Shadowstar once again.. could not make it to the Gathering,' He mewed, chosing his words carefully as to not give anything away, 'So I will speak in her stead.'
'We have welcomed many new cats into our Clan over the past few months. We have formed an alliance with our neighbours, SunClan, but we still are threatened by Shadowstar's sister's 'Clan' who still seek to harm us in any way. Prey runns fewer in leaf-bare, but IslandClan is still running strong, and we will always be so."
Lionheart dipped his head and stepped back.
Brackenstep watched Ashstar, and looked around for a cat to talk too.
