Dear Dawnstar,
Thank you so much for posting while I've been gone. I'm afraid I haven't had time for Warrior cat blogs lately, and I want to apologize greatly. Your a fantastic friend, a wonderful Warrior, and faithful to this blog.
I would like to inform you that I won't be returning soon, but I will stay partial admin for a while. I will not leave yet. I will give myself a chance to return, but I fear that Warrior blogs may not fit into my lifestyle at the present time, at least.

Please forgive me, and I hope we'll still be good friends. I know you can run this blog very well. If you ever have any requests, or if you would ever need me to post something, or work on something, please comment on my blog, as I don't always check my email, but go on blogger at least once every few days.

The Gathering has been delayed one night due to my schoolwork, it was necessary with the amount I had to get done, and I apologize. I'll try to keep this post short and sweet:

Sadly, no more initiative has been put in to setting a date for the upcoming contest, as I haven't contacted Brooke since she took a short break from Blogger (though I believe she will be returning soon).

Like myself, I know that everyone must be extremely busy now that our lovely carefree summer days are gone for another year. For those of you who see this, enjoy commenting this month!

And, as further news of the contest, Brooke has talked with me (Dawnstar) and we have decided on all the rules and how it will work over e-mail. The only thing we have left to work on is the final date of when the contest will actually be held on.

Sylvine here. The full moon is tomorrow night, so I thought I'd get this out of the way now. I feel all of you should know what is being done and why. I really upsets me to have to do this, but I've been left no choice.

Dreamstar of LakeClan, a long-time member of the community, has been exiled permanently from The Warrior Gathering. Why?

Though I have explained this many times, it bears repeating.
Almost 2 years ago, back at the very founding of our eldest Clans in this community, there was a bit of confusion and debate on who was to run the warrior gathering for all the clans. It had been learned from past experience that having several little gatherings scattered about did nothing but create confusion and divide the Clans instead of bring them together. We (myself, Brooke, Dreamstar, and a couple others on the 'council' you could say) eventually agreed to run a poll on who was to lead the FINAL gathering and moonstone for our community. I won the gathering poll (Dreamstar and Brooke tied for the moonstone, but that's another story, which luckily had a happy ending for everyone).

I at once set about making this blog, The Warrior Gathering, and ran it successfully for over a year. Of course, as you all know, I recently handed over admin-ship to Brooke and Dawnstar due to my schedule. However, before that, trouble arose with two particular members.

In December, I discovered that Dreamstar and Delaney had gone off and created their own copy Gathering blog. They did this without my consent or knowledge, belligerently breaking our long-standing agreement.
Don't get me wrong. It would be very different if they had made their without knowing about the agreement or existence of mine. But no, both had participated in the final gathering poll, and had been role-playing here for a year. They would also, of course, be welcome to leave the main gathering to make one specifically for their own Clans. But no, this was another gathering for everyone, essentially a replacement. All of you can imagine how I felt about that. How would any of you feel upon discovering your Clan had been copied in such a way? Not at all happy. Quite upset, in fact.

In addition, I discovered that they had copied material and ideas directly off my Gathering, and hadn't even bothered to provide a link back to me. When confronted, Dreamstar denied this. She said, in a direct quote, that she hadn't even looked at my Gathering in the process of creating hers. So here, I provide you proof.

The Warrior Code from the books. My edited version which I have had posted for a year. The version on their blog.

Also, I was the one who came up with the idea of hosting a poll on The Warrior Gathering for changes and additions to The Warrior Code for our community. Now, she has claimed that right on her blog as well.

I had tried to calmly confront Dreamstar and Delaney several times. This usually started with me attempting conversation and compromise, then getting yelled at, being called a troll, and being told to shut up and leave, and ended the same way with neither side content. Even in the midst of this, I emailed Dreamstar and we finally agreed on a compromise; We would join forces and keep hers as the Secondary Warrior Gathering. She would still be a part of the main blog, but would be able to host her own contests, and could accept members that we couldn't (name doubles, for example). I felt this would be fairly satisfying to both sides. But after the agreement was made, I found she had apparently neglected to consult Delaney on the matter, and when Delaney balked, they broke their agreement a second time.

It was only after all of this that I deleted Dreamstar's Clan off The Warrior Gathering, giving her the option to RP at one or the other. Fair enough, I'd say. But Dreamstar claimed she had the 'right' to RP on my blog, as well as owning her copy. It was my turn to be stubborn though. This sparked another argument. Eventually, after much back-and-forth, they agreed to provide ONE link back to me, only after much prodding. Still frustrated, I left the debate and let them on their way, tired of the fight. Around that time was when I handed the Gathering over to Brooke and Dawnstar.

After I left the main administration, Dreamstar asked Brooke to rejoin, saying that she was leaving her gathering. Brooke and I decided to accept her back on these grounds. I went over to her Clan and told her, politely and plainly, that we were going to accept her back, but we were going to hold her to her word. Suddenly she denied her own words, then banned me from her C-Box. This was the last I could take.

I can no longer play the nice guy. Dreamstar, I tried to talk to you in private as to not bring everyone else into this, but you have left me no choice but to confront you publicly. I even told you I would do so, but you either didn't believe me or didn't care. So, on this day, you Clan will be removed from the sidebar, and you will be forbidden from role-playing on this blog. I had given you the choice of one blog or the other, but you tried to get away with both, and I refuse to be walked all over anymore. You have made me choose for you. So, as of today, you are now officially, formally, permanently exiled from this blog. I am truly sorry it came to this.

Now, if you have any concluding remarks, I won't shut you up. I'm willing to discuss anything you or Delaney has to say. Keep in mind that I will be gone most of tomorrow, but Brooke and I will still answer you before deleting this post tomorrow night before the Gathering. If you don't respond, it's just as well, for things will stand as they are anyway. Farewell, and have a nice life.

June 2011 Gathering Tonight + Future Contest!

Hello, my lovely Clan leaders and members!

The Warrior Gathering is tonight and StarClan is watching over us all with their glistening starlight. Tonight is a time for Clan leaders to speak to one-another about the past, current, and future events happening in their Clan.

Because every Clan has been added to the list {look right on sidebar}, every Clan may comment. If you are joining on the night of the Gathering you must wait until next month before you can comment. We will not add new Clans on the night of the Gathering.

I ask that everyone take the time to briefly review the rules before roleplaying with their friends on this post. We understand it takes a few seconds, but they will be a few well-spent seconds for sure. So comment away-the more the merrier!

In other news, expect to see a Hunting Contest in July that is open for all Clans. This contest will involve hunting, and only hunting to avoid confusion and to provide more opportunities in the future. The contest may be {I'd still like to discuss this with Dawnstar} like this:

Cats will be playing to represent their Clans'-Items caught by the winner may be kept and any leftovers that aren't needed may be kept by the original catchers.

Kits will try to catch as many falling leaves as possible within about 10 seconds {a Warrior would be shaking a tree branch so that leaves would fall quickly}. Whoever catches the most leaves in 10 seconds will be the winner! Their Clan will be awarded five mice. This game will be played 5 times, therefor awarding 5 winning Clans with 5 pieces of prey.

Apprentices will try to catch as much prey as possible within 15 minutes. Whoever catches the most prey is awarded ten mice. This game will be played twice, therefor awarding two Clans with 10 pieces of prey.

Warriors will try to catch hares and fish {as much as possible within 15 minutes}. Whoever catches the most prey is awarded all of the prey they caught plus 10 more prey pieces. This game will be played twice, therefor awarding two Clans with 10 pieces of prey.

One Clan cannot win two contests-this is just so we can be fair-though participate in as many as wanted

This will be explained once more when the contest is taken place. Dawnstar, I'll need your opinion, of course! And any questions will be answered quickly. I understand how this could be confusing. They will be described in greater detail if/when the contests are made.

Updates Completed

Cats of the Clans,
   I would like to announce that the updates are completed!
   Instead of notes on the sidebar, we have pages beneath the header, making the blog more organized and easier to maneuver. I've added Clans {and removed them}, and have even done a few extras here and there.
   If you have any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to share them with Dawnstar and I. Expect contests coming soon that may include prizes and plenty of fun! I'd actually like to discuss this with Dawnstar, first.
   You will see more updates appearing {that I won't be announcing} and you may find it interesting to look at them. Feedback is greatly appreciated.
   A new bit of information has been created that states if you don't make a post on your Clan for three months, we have the right to remove it from our list. It isn't fair to other Clans who have the same name as you, or to us. I also found a Clan that was shown as dangerous on my computer {saying that it could harm my computer if I went to it} and I removed it from the list.
   I think that together, we can all build the Clans up to be better than ever before. Let's get the Warrior Gathering up and moving again! Remember to check back regularly for new news and events.

New Administration

Hello, everyone. There is some big news for The Warrior Gathering.

I must accept the fact that the whole of the wonderful Warrior community of yesteryear has died off, moved on, and changed. Though it saddens me to say, do believe it's time for me to do the same. I've been without a Clan, my beloved StormClan, for a year now, and despite my best efforts to revive it, something ALWAYS keeps me from achieved that goal. Being the admin of Blogger's Warrior Gathering has also lost its spark for me... I feel it's time to hand this blog into some new paws. Fortunately, these paws I know to be faithful, friendly, and dedicated to the whole role-play community, more so than I've been able to be for a long time. So, please welcome your new admins, Brooke & Dawnstar!

I will still be on occasionally, of course. I'm not just leaving Blogger behind. But I am 15 now, and I simply have too many responsibilities to keep up with blogging on top of everything else in my life. So, I bid you all a fond farewell as the main leader of this blog, and wish good luck to Brooke and Dawnstar! I know you guys will do great. :)

Once again, this month has been a whirlwind. The fact that I haven't finished the blog design is another reason why I need to enlist some moderators to help me out. I would have last week ago, but it was my birthday. :)
Currently, we are still making arrangements with the owners of the secondary Gathering to smooth out some issues... If we fix these, I may have a moderator join-sheet as soon as tomorrow. So start thinking about if you would like to apply!

As usual, the rules are:
Only talk outside of role-play in parentheses
No joining on the role-play forums
RPG fighting is allowed, but please don't let it get out of hand

'11 Changes

The first full moon of this new year is tonight, but right now, I'd like to discuss some changes that will be happening for the Gathering.

Effective February 1^st, The Warrior Gathering will have moderators! The moderators' job will be to assist me in the upkeep of the Gathering, to help monitor incoming comments, and will have input in the future CONTESTS that will be coming up. More on the contests later though.

How will I be choosing mods for this blog? By their knowledge of the Warrior Cats series, their advancement in role-play on this community, and their good reputation for being reasonable, honest, and fun. These people will also have to have good grammar and must not have a history of attacking other bloggers through yelling or cursing. For now, I will only be starting off with two or three moderators for The Warrior Gathering, people that I know and trust, so I can see how things go. Later on, more may be added.

As I mentioned earlier, The Warrior Gathering will now be hosting contests once every moon! These contest will be either role-play competitions (either held at the Gathering place itself for on a volunteering Clan's territory), or contests focused on each individual Clan's accomplishments, talents, and positive qualities (awards and banners included).

As you've probably noticed, I have a new background design for the Gathering. I have a full design made, but, as it is, I'm having a little uploading trouble. When ImageShack fixes their site up, I'll be able to finish the renovations on the Gathering. I'm doing a little HTML editing too for a whole new look (though, once again, I'll have to wait... the design needs to come out first).

Before the Gathering tonight, I have one more announcement to make. In a rather long chain of events, the Warrior Gathering now has an ally! The SECONDARY Gathering can be found here: http://gathering-of-clans.blogspot.com/. What is the secondary Gathering? It is a blog connected to the main Gathering which helps us out in many ways. This blog holds Gatherings in the case of emergencies, will hold some of the future contests, and will be the blog for Clans whose names are already taken on the main Gathering. However, this is not a community split; It's a beneficial addition which ensures a larger community. Think of it as a leader and deputy; This blog is still THE main blog, the blog which was elected 'by StarClan' (by the original polls), and the one which will be making most of the rules. The 'deputy' is the secondary Gathering, which will work with us to make the full moon Gathering nights more inclusive and fun. Feel free to check it out, but to be clear, you do NOT have to join both blogs. If you can join this Gathering, please do. The secondary Gathering is a backup in a way. Please do check it out though. :)

I was really hoping to stay and watch the Gathering tonight, but I'm sick right now. Last but not least, I would like to say that the rules have been changed and now ALLOW role-play fighting on the full moon. Have fun!

This is not an official Gathering post, but bear with me.
I have a master plan for restoring the Gathering, and hopefully, the population of Clans around these parts. Ever since StormClan died (or at least became dormant), things seem to be going downhill all around. Our community is growing up and leaving the role-playing world, and quite frankly, I find that very sad. I'm afraid that my lack of participation in getting the Gathering setup hasn't helped matters any, but I'm going to try to change that with a new design and feel around Christmas break.
The main reason for this post is to tell you that is is true; I am returning to Blogger! And with a new blog, at that. It is called 'Scriptless', the new and improved version of my old blog 'Randomness'. I will be hosting a special contest there in a few days if I get some more followers, so please do check it out, and comment and follow if you can. Link is below.

Warrior Gathering of September

Hello, fellow warriors! Silverstar here.

I just wanted to say that I will be gone on vacation for several weeks, meaning that I will miss the Gathering. By the time you read this, I will probably have already left. With packing and preparing, and 4-H activities (I'm scrapbook reporter this year, my first official 4-H office), AND not to mention the fact that I just rescued and adopted a pigeon (YAY!), I haven't been on Blogger at all for weeks.

So, bottom line, I have the Gathering post set to automatically appear on September 23rd. BUT, I unfortunately haven't had a chance to add the new Clans yet. Some of the RV parks my family will be staying at will have Internet available, so I promise to try to get all of them added if I can. All of the current Clans who signed up to join are fine and are welcome to come to the next Gathering, even if I have not added them to the list yet.

In other news, the two changes proposed to The Warrior Code have been voted upon by members in our warrior community, and the final decision has been made: BOTH rules will be added to the Warrior Code! Thank you to everyone who voted. The polls are now closed.

The Warrior Code Additions/Changes

Hello, fellow Clan leaders, deputies, warriors, medicine cats, apprentices, and all other cats of the Clans!

As you will remember, at the June Gathering, votes were taken to decide if a new law would be added to the Warrior Code. There were 33 votes for the law, and 29 against it. I asked that only leaders vote, and I KNOW that 62 different Clans did not attend last moon. Also, I got to thinking how some people lead more than one Clan, and that makes it rather unfair to those who only lead one.
So, I have decided on a new system to take votes. Each role-playing blogger at this Gathering - Clan leader or otherwise - will POST their opinion in a comment, and vote for or against each rule. At least 20 people must vote for the rule to be passed or turned down.

There are two propositions for changes to the Warrior Code tonight. Please see the original Warrior Code HERE. In your comment, please address BOTH changes and vote for or against them.

NEW ADDITION:
19: Apprentices are not allowed to take mates or have kits until they become warriors.

CHANGE:
13: The word of the Clan leader is to be obeyed as long as they are following StarClan and the Warrior Code.

June Gathering Tonight!

ALL GATHERING GOERS ARE TO READ!

Hello, fellow cats! The June Gathering is tonight, but before then, I would like to make several announcements.

Firstly, over the past few weeks, I have been running some polls on the sidebar. The votes have been cast, and it has been decided that The Warrior Gathering WILL keep its current look, but that it WILL get a button. I will set about making it as soon as I can. It has also been decided that Primrose's StarClan blog will not control the moon and clouds on the Gathering night. Though I personally am quite fond of her blog, I agree with this choice, as there are many StarClan blogs and it would be unfair to choose one over the rest. Sorry, Primrose.

Secondly, I want to announce that an alliance has just been made that marks great changes in how The Warrior Gathering is operated. To explain completely, I must tell a rather long story.

At this time last year, there were less than 15 Clans in the forest, and one gathering for them all. However, when that gathering owner quit Blogger, there was quite a lot of fuss over who was to create a new gathering. In the end, I decided to help settle it all by running a huge poll to let the rest of the people in our blogging circle decide once and for all who was to run the ONLY gathering.

Out of about 80 voters, I won by 20 votes and created the blog you are on now, The Warrior Gathering. Over the past year (though some of the first posts were deleted), this blog has not only survived but thrived. Each full moon is full of excitement, and with 80+ Clans and 400+ comments each Gathering night, the roll play can literally continue into the next day. Everything has been working out great for many moons... Up until now.

Not long ago, I caught wind that there were several other small gatherings popping up and trying to replace this one. I was understandably annoyed. The owners of these new gatherings were new to the blogging world and had no clue of the trouble and confusion multiple gatherings cause. I, however, remember that time, and I don't want anything like that to happen again.

To make this point clear, imagine this; There are three new Clans in the forest. One joins all of the gatherings they find. The second joins only one gathering. The last joins only a few of the gatherings because they don't know about the rest. How would all of these Clans communicate? And, say that all of the Clans on Blogger decided to join all of the gatherings. That would mean hopping from blog to blog every full moon, and it would be VERY hard to continue roll play on 6 blogs at once.

As for having one big Gathering, we've seen that it DOES work to have all of Clans in one place. Not only that, but it's very fun. There is everything from peaceful announcements, to heated territory debates, to prophecies... Just like at a real Gathering. That is the way it is supposed to be.

Now, this brings me to the alliance I have made. After speaking to some of the other gathering owners, many of them have realized my point and have chosen to change their blogs. However, another important point has been brought to my attention; Since I do not allow Clan names to overlap (such as two DawnClans, for example), there are people whose Clans cannot join The Warrior Gathering but who still want to go to a gathering.

Therefor, I spoke with the leader of one of the smaller gatherings, and we agreed to ally our two blogs. This means that I will have a link to their blog on my join page for the people whose Clan names are already taken, and that their blog will link back to me for the people who find them first, but whose names are not taken here. So basically, this will remain the main Gathering, but there will be a second for the people who cannot join this one.

So, just to be clear, you should NOT join this blog if your Clan is already here. But do check it out after the full moon to see what news is in the other Clans.

The full moon is TECHNICALLY tomorrow, but because it's New Year's Eve, the Gathering will be held tonight. Also, the full moon tomorrow is VERY special... Only once in every 19 years do two full moons occur in the same month. This is one of those months! And it is said that the this 'blue moon' causes strange events for the forest Clans. In other words, you don't want to miss this Gathering!

Warrior Code

Over the moons, the warrior code has gone through many changes. Code changes will be proposed on the full moon. Clan leaders, if you think there should be a change to the warrior code, post your idea here. These are the current rules in the warrior code:

1: Clan cats should defend their Clan even at the cost of their own life.

2: Clan cats should not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.

3: Elders, queens, and kits should be fed first in the Clan.

4: Prey should not be killed for sport and StarClan must be thanked for its life.

5: Kits must be six moons old before they can become apprentices and be assigned mentors.

6: New warriors must sit a silent guard over camp and reflect on their new duties.

7: A warrior cannot become deputy without mentoring at least one apprentice.

8: When a Clan leader dies the Clan deputy must take their place as leader.

9: If a Clan deputy dies or retires the Clan leader must appoint a new one before moonhigh that night.

10: Every full moon all the Clans will meet in peace.

11: Clan boundaries are to be checked and marked daily and intruders to be chased off.

12: Warriors should always help a kit in danger even if it belongs to a different Clan.

13: The word of the Clan leader is to be obeyed.

14: Warriors should not kill in battle unless the opponent is outside the warrior code or threatening their life.

15: A true warrior rejects the ways of kittypets and other cats outside the Clan.

16: Medicine cats must not take mates or have kits.

17: Medicine cats must meet every half-moon to speak with StarClan.

18: Warriors must not take mates from outside their Clan.

Keep in mind that rules #1, #2, #10, #16, and #17 are warrior laws are not to be changed.

(For those of you who think the Warrior Code should not be changed, read 'Code of the Clans' to see how the Warrior Code came to be in the first place... Clan leaders voted on new rules. And yes, I know that the rules here are not worded exactly like they are in the books, but I have been a Warrior fan for over 2 years and I have NOT left out anything and have NOT added incorrect rules.)

If you have started a Warrior Cats Clan on Blogger, here is how you can join all of the other Clans at The Official Warrior Gathering! THINGS TO NOTE: There are several qualifications you need to join The Warrior Gathering. Please read below before posting your comment.

Your Clan must be based off of and similar to the original Warrior Cats series. Bottom line. If you have not read at least one 'Warrior Cats' book by Erin Hunter, you probably should not be making a Clan at this time. Being similar to the series basically means that your Clan must follow the Warrior Code, be led by a StarClan-approved leader, live in the forest and border the rest of the Clans, and so on. It also means that your Clan cannot consist of half-badger six-legged unicorn cats with superpowers who fly and shoot laser beams from their eyes, for example. Of course, the exact happenings in your Clan is up to you, but it is unfair to everyone else to use 'superpowers' that make one Clan significantly superior to another. So again, The Warrior Gathering is for realistic Warrior-based Clans.

Your Clan's name MUST be realistic. I will NOT accept Clan names that are:
Unrealistic, such as 'CupcakeClan' or 'FluffyClan'.
Contain words that warriors do not use, such as 'WinterClan' or 'AsphaltClan'.
Contains two words that do not fit together, such as 'OaktreeClan' or 'GrassbladeClan'.
Are used in the Warriors book series, such as 'RiverClan' or 'LeopardClan'.
Are strange-sounding, such as 'LovingClan' or 'CatClan'.
Are already used at The Warrior Gathering (please look at the list on the sidebar to see if your Clan's name is already taken).
I highly prefer the leader's name to be realistic, too.

This is a Gathering for Clans that follow StarClan, so no evil Clans are allowed. This Gathering is strictly for Blogger Clans, so Clans from other websites are not allowed. If you cannot join The Warrior Gathering for any reason, you may go to THIS gathering, which is our ally. But ONLY join that one if you cannot join this main one.

If at any time you decide to delete your Clan or move blog sites, please inform me first so that I can remove your Clan from the Gathering, and let another blogger use that Clan name. If I do not add your Clan at once, you do NOT have to post the joining forum again, for I will get to it in due time. Your Clan may NOT comment on the Gathering until it has been added to the Clans on the sidebar.

I also ask that you do not add your Clan to the Gathering if you are considering deleting it, because it just makes more work for me. You may not join The Warrior Gathering on the day of the full moon, because I will not add your Clan on short notice. You will have to wait until the next Gathering.

Last but not least, please read the general commenting rules on the sidebar, and follow this blog once you have joined. Please remember that I reserve the right not to add your Clan if I decide it does not fit within these guidelines. Thank you!

UPDATE: You can now reserve your Clan's name! If you plan to be making a new Clan within the month and want to reserve the name ahead of time, you are now welcome to put in a request for it. You may only reserve one name at a time.
